Product Specifications & Technical Details

Schwerll standard piston accumulators provide solutions for a wide range of industrial applications, designed to operate with hydraulic systems having system pressures up to 350 bar. Individual units offer capacities of up to 1,500 L, with standard design pressures reaching 35 MPa (350 bar/5,100 psi). Available piston diameters include 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 150, 180, 200, 250, 300, 360, 400, and 480 mm. Thanks to high‑precision cylindrical tolerances and a finely finished internal surface achieved through advanced manufacturing processes, these standard products can accommodate piston speeds of up to 3 m/s. To accommodate diverse working fluids, SCHWERLL employs a variety of proven sealing solutions.

Schwerll’s in‑house production line handles the machining of all metal components for its piston accumulators. The cylinder barrels of Xivier piston accumulators are manufactured using an ultra‑low‑stress forming process, ensuring that the sealing system operates under conditions of virtually zero wear over long service life. During operation, the cylinder barrels maintain excellent wear resistance, roundness, and straightness. Compared with the honing‑and‑roll‑forming process typically employed by hydraulic cylinder manufacturers for custom‑made cylinders, this low‑pressure forming technique, though more costly, delivers a finished product that can sustain leak‑free, maintenance‑free performance for exceptionally long periods. In contrast, the residual stresses induced by the honing‑and‑roll‑forming process—while well‑established and proven in hydraulic cylinders—can lead to slight elliptical deformation of the cylinder barrel in piston accumulators designed for gas–oil separation. Such deformation accelerates seal wear, often resulting in elevated internal gas leakage in practical applications.

Schwerll operates physicochemical and high‑and‑low‑temperature laboratories equipped with state‑of‑the‑art measurement and testing instruments. It conducts 100% incoming inspection of raw materials and cylinder barrels to ensure that product materials comply with global standards. In addition, through long‑term collaboration with major international engineering firms, Schwerll has developed high‑flow test systems and million‑cycle fatigue test systems tailored for standard piston accumulator assemblies. These facilities enable type‑approval testing for new‑specification piston accumulators, as well as high‑flow verification tests and functional simulation trials for standard piston accumulator systems.
