Accumulator Hydraulic Operating Mechanism for High-Voltage Gas Circuit Breakers

High-pressure piston accumulators for emergency trip of HV breakers up to 207 MPa. ISO/CE/ASME certified. Inquire for OEM/export spec.

Schwerll Industrial Fluid Power Equipment - Safety And Shut Off Valve Block

In high-voltage circuit breakers (such as hydraulic‑operated circuit breakers), When an emergency occurs—such as a complete loss of control power or failure of electric energy storage—an emergency opening (trip) is required. / When the circuit is closed, the high-pressure hydraulic fluid stored in the piston accumulator can deliver instantaneous power. During operation, safety procedures must be strictly followed, and hydraulic energy shall be released by manually opening the accumulator shut-off valve or activating the mechanical emergency decoupling device.

Emergency Operation Procedures

  • Confirm Status : Check the accumulator pressure gauge to ensure that the oil pressure is within the rated operating range (with sufficient energy).
  • Isolated power supply : Disconnect the control power supply and the motor power supply to prevent unintended operation.
  • Open manual unloading / Open valve : Slowly open the emergency manual mechanical valve for tripping (or closing) on the hydraulic mechanism, using the high-pressure oil from the accumulator to actuate the main spool.
  • Supervisory action Observe the circuit breaker’s mechanical position indicator to confirm that the contacts are fully open (tripped) or closed (closed).
  • Close the valve : After completing the operation, promptly close the emergency handle or manual valve to prevent continued pressure relief in the system.

Safety Precautions

  • High-pressure piston accumulators contain high-pressure nitrogen (typically on the order of tens of megapascals). Strictly prohibited Do not arbitrarily tighten or loosen the inflation valve plug.
  • Non‑professional on‑duty personnel shall not perform mechanical emergency operations without authorization; such operations must be carried out using qualified insulating tools or dedicated operating handles.
  • After emergency activation, the hydraulic system should be promptly inspected for faults (e.g., checking the power supply, the oil pump motor, or the microswitch).
